Silver tarnishes when it meets sulphur in the air, in sweat and in some cosmetics. Tarnish is only on the surface, and with a little care it is easy to prevent and remove.
Every day
- Put silver on after perfume, lotion and hair spray, not before.
- Take it off for swimming, cleaning with chemicals and the gym.
- Wipe each piece with a soft, dry cloth after wearing.
Storing
- Keep each piece separately in its Arham pouch or a zip bag, away from air and moisture.
- Avoid storing silver with rubber bands or in damp cupboards.
Cleaning
A polishing cloth restores most shine. Do not use harsh dips on oxidised pieces — their dark finish is intentional. For a deep clean, bring your Arham silver to the showroom and we will look after it.
